Zone 1 Solar Power Package

JCE are delighted to have recently completed and delivered a Zone 1 Solar Power Package to Semco Maritime A/S, which is to be installed in the Danish sector of the North Sea.

This solar power package has been customised to meet the demands of the end user, for use on their unmanned Jacket for the provision of power to monitor Down Hole Gauges, Annulus Pressure Transmitters etc.

This particular system comprises of Zone 1 solar panels, battery systems, battery isolators and controller enclosure all affixed to appropriate framework, for standalone installation on the facility.

Operations Director at JCE, Martin Craig says ‘We were delighted to have had the opportunity to work with Semco A/S & Dong on this innovative project using alternative energy technologies for hazardous areas. This project has been exciting and fulfilling, having been completed on budget and schedule. We look forward to continuing our work onto phase two of this project’.

This system will convert and provide power in both sunlight and during periods of darkness, shade and limited UV. The solar control unit, which provides battery management, monitoring and protection can also include power conversion to provide regulated AC or DC output if required.
